Pencader Win Division Two Championship

Pencader Win Division Two Championship

FeelGood Ceredigion sends our congratulations to Pencader as they are crowned champions of the Costcutter Division Two.

Here's the post from their Facebook page celebrating...

"Well we have done it! With promotion already guaranteed, a point away to Maesglas yesterday was enough to secure the league.

Maesglas started the game superbly and really had the Kites rattled. Their efforts paid off with a Louis Harding goal to put the home team 1-0 up and well deserved on 17 minutes. Pencader knew they had a battle on their hands and settled into the game without panic. Several attacks down the left wing from Alfie Morgan
saw him fouled, resulting in Maesglas picking up 2 consecutive yellows and being reduced to 10 men. Chances kept coming for the Kites but somehow were unable to find the back of the net. It remained 1-0 at half time.

Pencader knew a point was enough and remained patient with more chances spurned. A change in formation saw Pencader take control of the game but were also reduced to 10 men for a foul on the edge of the box. With time running out a Connor Reece Timms-davies corner found the head of young Morgan Mably at the near post and buried in into the net. A great battle from both teams saw the match end in a draw which was a fair result.

Nevertheless, the team dug deep and got the all important point and the celebrations could begin🍾🍾. A 4 year journey which has seen the club go from strength to strength and a group of players that have grown and who will give everything.

We want to wish MAESGLAS FOOTBALL CLUB all the best for the remainder of the season and from their performance yesterday hope they reach Division 1 with us. It was certainly a great advert for the league.

Thank you to all the players and supporters for being there with us yesterday. It meant a lot to those on the pitch, diolch.
